1. Introduction

Welcome to PearlSpace’s Privacy Policy. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website www.pearlspace.ca and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Data Collection and Use

2.1. Data We Collect About You. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse our website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to our website, and information about how you interact with our website.

2.2. Use of Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics to improve our website. For more information on how Google uses data when you use our website, visit “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps”, located at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.

2.3. Collection of Email Addresses for Newsletters

At PearlSpace, we deeply value the trust you place in us when sharing your email address. We assure you that we exclusively use your email address to keep you informed about events, updates, and other relevant information connected to PearlSpace. We firmly stand by our commitment that we do not sell, distribute, or lease your email address to any third parties. Your privacy is paramount, and we are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our communication with you. 3. Cookies

3.1. What Are Cookies? A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser.

3.2. How We Use Cookies. We use cookies to track the activity on our website and retain certain information. Cookies are used by Google Analytics to, for example, remember who you are and show you relevant content based on your previous interactions with our website.

If you have concerns regarding the traceability (cookies) of your browsing activity on our site, we recommend using Incognito Mode or a Private Browsing feature. This will ensure your browsing session remains unrecorded, providing an added layer of protection.

4. Data Protection and Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our website.

4.1 Contact Forms & Personal Data Collected. If you complete a form on our website, you may be asked for your name, phone number, email address, and physical address. This information is collected to contact you or, in the case of the Third-Party Fundraising Form, evaluate the viability of your proposed fundraiser.

Copies of your email/form submissions are stored on our server for up to 60 days when the submissions are permanently deleted.

We do have links or embeds of third-party forms that may have different data collection policies. These forms are our donation and membership application forms provided by Keela. Here is a link to Keela’s Privacy Policy.

By default, WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

5. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
