Donating securities, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, is the most efficient way to give charitably. Since capital gains taxes don’t apply, you can give more and get more.

A planned gift is a charitable donation which can be arranged during your lifetime but is not available to PearlSpace until sometime in the future. You can make a bequest in your Will or name PearlSpace as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, a security or mutual fund, or a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). These planned gifts offer financial benefits while allowing you to give generously and leave a legacy that will continue to impact others.
Bequests in Your Will
Estate planning doesn’t need to be complicated. A bequest is the property or money that you promise to give to another person or organization and can be as simple as including a sentence in your will, such as:
I direct my trustee(s) to give the sum of $_______ to PearlSpace 118964469 RR 0001 to be used where needed most.
Many Canadian companies like to support charities in their communities and offer employer giving to their employees. Each company sets its gift guidelines, but submitting a request is usually straightforward. Some companies will match your gift dollar for dollar, and some even match gifts from employees’ spouses and retirees.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Donate to PearlSpace to receive a charitable tax receipt.
Contact your company’s HR department or look on the website to inquire about employer matching or volunteer gift program. There may be forms to complete which asks for information such as:
Full name of charity: PearlSpace
Charitable registration number: 118964469 RR 0001
Address: PO Box 2052, Squamish, BC, V8B 0B4
Your company will donate to PearlSpace according to its matching gift program.
We receive additional funds with the charitable tax receipt going to your employer. You’ve just made your personal donation or volunteer hours go the extra mile.
